FiveAlarmBio (FAB) is a Cambridge based biopharma company with an innovative approach to treating the diseases of aging. It is seeking to raise £4m to generate a pipeline of leads for high value new medicines, including one to pre-IND stage, in four of the most commercially attractive and under- served diseases of aging, as well as securing associated Intellectual Property.
FAB is investigating one of the fundamental mechanisms of aging. Early results have shown that it is possible to intervene in this mechanism to dial up the body’s own defences against some of the key causes of age-related disease. The company’s approach is based on a class of small molecules which are already proven to be safe in the clinic, giving it a major competitive advantage.
The company’s initial activities are focused on four diseases – Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Sarcopenia and Wound Healing.
